Heritage Projects
We have maintained an excellent working relationship with both Urban Design and Heritage Toronto staff. On behalf of our clients we have been successful with residential, commercial, and institutional heritage developments.
Residential Heritage Projects:
THREE RESTORED VICTORIAN ERA FARMHOUSES:
Restored three historic Victorian era farmhouses, one in Gormley north of Toronto, one on the Niagara Escarpment overlooking Pine River Valley and one in Tavistock.

MARKET STREET, ST. LAWRENCE DISTRICT - 12 MARKET STREET:
Scheme is on hold, but our concept preserved the "Old Fish Market" building walls while creating retail at street level, seven four storey townhouses with roof terraces above, one floor of underground parking accessed by car lift. Each house with individual elevator access. This is a heritage site.

Commercial Heritage Projects:
TORONTO HONDA - DANFORTH AVENUE:
Our additions and renovations to this dealership includes resurrecting the interior of the original building to expose its historic wood "Bow-string arch" roof structure from the street - Planning and Urban Design staff and local community, plus Councilor are fully supporting the project.

OLDE TOWN OF YORK - DOWNTOWN NISSAN, PARLIAMENT AND ADELAIDE:
We successfully developed a car dealership on a corner site while meeting the Old Town of York guidelines for maintaining the historic character of the neighbourhood. Chosen by the City of Toronto urban design department as a model of pedestrian friendly dealership design. Was a BMW, is now a Nissan outlet.

MARKHAM TOWN HALL - MARKHAM ROAD:
Restored front entrance while adding handicapped access elevator under Markham Historic Board review. It is a mixed use restaurant / commercial office building on Markham Road north of Highway #7.
YORKVILLE HERITAGE DISTRICT - 3 NEW STREET:
Complied with Heritage Toronto comments in developing a 3 storey corporate office building on a former car parking site.

12 CUMBERLAND STREET
Our own office was the first "House Form" character tear-down and rebuild under early urban design guidelines prior to Heritage District designation.
Institutional Heritage Projects:
THE VILLAGE OF HUMBER HEIGHTS - LAWRENCE WEST:
Currently retaining the entrance and front wall of The Village of Humber Heights as part of a $24 million adult residential complex as a second phase to our $16 million Long Term Care facility which opened in April 2005.
STONE CHURCH - 45 DANFORTH:
Provided historical record drawings and photographs prior to demolition of Jesse Ketchum Hall. Research proved only the lower halves of two side walls were original and that the building had been relocated twice before.
COLLEGE STREET UNITED CHURCH - 452 COLLEGE STREET:
Redevelopment saved and restored historic church tower, and incorporated it into 9 storey condo with new church over two floors of underground parking.
